System Requirements: In order to participate in InternetSAR.org's search efforts you need to have Google Earth installed on your computer and have a broadband Internet connection (dial-up is too slow to download the required aerial imagery).
NOTICE: DO NOT CONTACT SAR AUTHORITIES DIRECTLY WITH FINDINGS FROM OUR IMAGERY
- ALL REPORTS of possible findings in imagery provided by InternetSAR.org MUST be reported through our reporting system and not to SAR authorities directly. Our systems are set up to manage and filter reports for the search
teams in charge of search missions we participate in.
- InternetSAR.org KML/KMZ overlays may not be redistributed to third parties nor may they be uploaded to other websites without the express consent of
InternetSAR.org. The KML/KMZ overlays we provide may contain sensitive, confidential, and/or propritary information not intended for wide distribution.
- Do not physically investigate possible crash sites found in overlays/imagery provided by InternetSAR.org except as part of the search team we are conducting our imagery search mission for. Be aware that in the U.S., it is against Federal Law (CFR 49 Part 830) to tamper with
or disturb crash sites. Other countries probably have similar laws.
Failure to abide by the above policies may result in
termination of the participant's account. The reason for these policies is
that those who bypass our reporting system or violate the above policies can actually impede the
efforts of search teams, jeopardize any potential crash site and/or put the lives/well being of others at risk. By joining InternetSAR.org you agree to be bound by the above policies.
