InternetSAR.org respects the privacy of all individuals who use this website and are committed to protecting the personal information collected about you.
This policy sets out the way in which data about living individuals, which we receive from you, may be processed by us via this website. Please note, however, that this privacy policy will not apply to any foreign or third party websites which are linked to by InternetSAR.org as we do not control the activities on those sites. We recommend that you check the privacy statements of each linked site which you visit.
Except as otherwise set out in this privacy policy, we will not disclose any information which can be traced to you, without your permission unless we are legally entitled or required to do so, or if we believe that such action is necessary to protect and/or defend our rights, property or personal safety and those of our members.

Email addresses provided to InternetSAR.org will not be provided to third parties unless a member decides to make their email address publicly available via their profile options. The only email InternetSAR.org will send will be directly related to this website and search missions we undertake. Members can unsubscribe from our mailing lists by replying to one of our mailings with "UNSUBSCRIBE" in the subject line. Email addresses will not be used for commercial purposes.
One exception to this email policy is that if a member submits a report that is deemed to be a promising enough of a lead, that it is passed on to the relevant search team, the member's email address may be provided to the search team if they request it.
Reports and evaluations that are filed as part of a search effort are visible to our report evaluators, senior evaluators and the appropriate search team. The personal information that is provided with these reports is limited the reporting member's "screen name" and the information that is part of the individual report or evaluation. On a case by case basis, in some instances a member's email address and real name may be provided to the appropriate search team in relation to a report or evaluation that was filed if the search team needs to contact the member directly for any reason.
We strive to ensure that all data we collect is protected against unauthorized access. This includes the encryption of passwords, limiting physical access to the server running this website and limiting administrative access to the server.
